FC Galaxians! MayDay Melee & the beyond...

Good evening, Galaxians!

Just wanted to give a recap of the MayDay Melee, which was played this past Sunday by Galaxians and their friends.

I want to begin by thanking those that participated. Galaxians (Starting from right of photo) included Robert (me), Fermin, Gerson, Christian, Jose, and Gustavo. Those that joined us included Ramin, Daniel, Nick, & Sergio. These guys gave their all and put up with me shouting orders at them the entire morning. They really did good by the group.

The results consisted of 1 win and 3 losses. Considering that this was our first official time sharing a pitch together, we fought very well.

Our first game was a 3-1 victory.

After the first game, some of us were ready for round two. Others required some sideline treatment. The team had a tough time waiting for over two hours for our next match of the day. We stayed loose and talked tactics up until the next game.

We weren't able to win our other games. The second ended 1-2, the third 2-4, and the last 1-3. Injury kicked in and fatigue became a companion for many, but not one of the boys lost heart.

What does this mean for FC Galaxians, you might ask?

Although we did not get the result we sought, the team was more motivated to continue representing the Galaxians while donning the group's colors. We are going to continue holding practices on Saturday morning and we will seek other tournaments to be a part of.

If you are interested in joining, contact me via the Galaxians email account found to the right of this window! If you are interested in owning your very own FC Galaxian jersey, let me know!!!

The idea will be to continue representing the group and hopefully, all of you can come out to support us!

Before I end this, I want to shout out one more Thank you! This is to all Galaxians who helped fund the group's jerseys. These belong to the group (unless purchased individually) and really made us stand out. This effort wouldn't have been possible without your generous contributions!

As always, I encourage you all to continue support the Galaxians by donating.

As I led our squad in this tournament, and as I write this, one thing stayed in my mind:
Soy Galaxian! Galaxian Soy Yo!!!

Thank you again, everyone!!!

Donate to the Cause!

Fellow Galaxians!!!

I wanted to provide you with a detailed account of the two projects I am helping organize and that I hope you can help make these into a reality.

Currently, we are looking at getting a set of 9 Galaxians FC jerseys. As I have said before, the idea of investing in this effort is to ensure that the group can participate in charity events where our participation can help a good cause. These uniforms will promote the group while also exhibiting our pride in the group. My hope is to get a complete set in the near future.

The cost for each shirt comes out to a little over $20 but we are also customizing them in an effort to make them truly Galaxian! Thus, each shirt will cost more.

The other project I have been pushing for is a custom Galaxian EZ-Up shade device. I am sure you have seen other Supporter Groups with one of these at their tailgates: I ask you to consider what it would mean if we too had one that emphasized who we are and where we are.

The colors and our original (Old School) logo would be placed on the top with the word Galaxians in bold on the lower flaps of the tent. I have been actively seeking quotes for purposes of getting an idea of how much we, as a group, would need to raise in order to complete this project (sample image provided below).

The cost for the EZ-Up varies depending on the size we deem worthy of our needs.

Fellow Galaxians, the cost for the jerseys has come out to a little under $250. The cost for the EZ-UP will possibly fall between $1,000 - $1,200.

I don't have to do the math for you to give you an idea of the total cost for these two projects --- and there are other things the group has mentioned that are important too, such as investing in a new drum.

The fact is, there is not hurry to complete these projects. Consider these projects as long term goals for the group. There is plenty of time to raise the money, as a group, in order to complete both projects.

We have collected over $50 dollars so far.
Thank you to those who have supported our efforts to invest in these projects.

Galaxians --- your annual group dues and any donations you can provide will make these and future projects possible. Please donate and support these efforts everyone!!!

Thank you for your support and attention!

Vamos Galaxians!!!

Don't watch the Galaxy on an empty stomach!!!

As you may or may not know, Chipotle just announced yesterday their partnership with Major League Soccer, and will work with the MLS and the 12 clubs throughout the 2014 season to execute unique promotions and activations to reach MLS fans across the country.

Omar Gonzalez, LA Galaxy Defender, two-time MLS Cup Champion, and prominent member of the U.S. Men’s National Team, will represent the MLS as the first spokesperson of this unique partnership.

Gonzalez will play a vital role in the Homegrown campaign from being featured in anthem and skills videos to promoting the partnership on his social media channels.

To kick off the partnership, Chipotle will be hosting a March to Soccer promotion to celebrate the beginning of the MLS season and the LA Galaxy home opener game this Saturday, March 8, and invites Galaxy fans to come in to any Los Angeles Chipotle restaurant wearing their Galaxy gear on Saturday to receive a buy-one-get-one deal for burritos, bowls, salads or an order of tacos.

(Only one deal per person dressed in apparel; must order in person; and not available for catering, fax orders, online order or burritos by the box).

Enjoy Galaxians!!!

2014 Los Angeles Galaxy Primary Kit Unveiled!

The LA Galaxy have unveiled the new kit for the 2014 season.

http://www.lagalaxy.com/news/2014/03/la-galaxy-unveil-new-primary-kit-2014-season

Carlisa rocks the new 2014 kit!

The Galaxy state the following:
"The new kit features an updated Sash that showcases the energy and nonstop motion of LA. The sash is composed of eleven individual stripes, which symbolize the Starting XI players and completes the traditional sash. The kit’s neck tape displays the traditional LA quasar, also featured in the lenticular crest. “This Is LA”, a fan-inspired team slogan, appears on the jock tag."

We can all be proud in having had a small part in this unveiling. Galaxian's President, Carlisa Perdomo, was invited to represent the group with other members from different support groups and club players.

I hope you are all looking forward to the coming season which kicks off this weekend! Hope to see you all there!
